Cultural identity and a full heart
I’m a third generation Californian on my mother’s side. Both sets of her grandparents came from Italy to the Bay Area at the turn of the 19th Century. So, when I was growing up, all our extended family celebrations were with the Italians, and I loved it. Being Italian American is a key part of my cultural identity, and the one I most strongly identified with when I was growing up.
